DSC - Digital Signature Certificate
DSC- is the electronic digital signature of the person. This is not a picture but a software programme enables the person to authenticate the electronic documents like PDF forms.Normally class II digital signature is issued by the Certifying Authorities on application.
Requirement for using MCA e-governance services is to acquire a Digital Signature Certificate (DSC), in compliance with IT Act 2000 for secure online interactions with MCA offices.
It is required to every user i.e. all directors and professionals like company Secretaries and Chartered Accountants etc. who wants to sign any e form or document for submission with RoC.
DSC obtained for MCA purpose can be used for signing other electronic documents like IT returns, Tender Documents, e payments etc.
Details required for processing of DSC application:
- PAN in case of Resident is mandatory
- Photo copy of proof of identity: i.e. 1. Passport 2. Driving license 3. Income-tax PAN card
- Photo copy of proof of residence: i.e. 1. Passport 2. Election (voter identity) card 3. Driving license 4. Ration Card 5. Electricity bill 6. Telephone bill 7. Bank Account statement
- Latest passport size photograph.
- Valid e mail id

ROLE checking at MCA portal
Role checking is mapping of digital signature with DIN/ PAN etc at the MCA portal.Normally class II digital signature is issued by the Certifying Authorities on application.
Role checking will enable the user to sign and submit the forms and returns to the MCA portal.
For Directors role checking valid PAN based DIN and DSC is required
For Managers role checking DSC and PAN required
For Company Secretary of Practicing professionals role checking DSC and membership number required.
